I have named this clock model “Thendara”, named after a small hamlet in the nearby Adirondack mountains, where I love to vacation.
This piece has two distinctive features: the copper face is hand-tooled, with raised numbers and embellishments, hand-painted black. The other feature is the bisque-like custom tile with leaves and acorn, reflecting the Adirondack theme; it is painted copper and chemically aged to give it that wonderful green patina.
The carcass is made of the traditional quarter-sawn white oak, and the top, tile surrounds and corbels are made of the warm red African hardwood, Paduak (“pa-dook”)
About 10 inches high, by 8 wide, by 4 deep.
